Collector Mr. Bhondve receives award from union finance minister
Bhopal, December 4, 2015 (Ataullah Faizan): Hoshangabad district has been conferred national award of best district for rehabilitation of disabled persons. The award was given away to Hoshangabad collector Mr. Sanket Bhondve by Union Finance Minister Mr. Arun Jaitely in New Delhi today. Union Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Mr. Thawarchand Gehlot and Union Ministers of State Mr. Kishanpal Gurjar and Mr. Vijay Sanpla were also present on the occasion. These awards are presented every year on International Disabled Persons Day on December 3 for outstanding achievements for empowerment of disabled persons. This year 58 awards have been conferred in 14 major categories.
Hoshangabad Collector Mr. Sanket Bhondve has undertaken various useful programmes for welfare of disabled persons which have yielded positive results. Mr. Bhonde has been conferred the national award for his excellent works in this field. All expected rehabilitation services including psychological treatment, physiotherapy, distribution of aides, speech therapy etc. have been provided at district rehabilitation centre in Hoshangabad district. Entire centre has been developed hurdle-less and disabled-friendly.
Various state government programmes including Kanyadan Yojana, job fairs, loan facility of self-employment and skill development are executed at the centre. Disabled persons in the district are being extended benefits of scheme for toilet construction, Mukhyamantri Aawas and Indira Aawas, disabled scholarships and distribution of subsidized food grains. Besides, ramps and railings for movement of disabled persons have been constructed in all government offices. Disabled persons are being provided benefits of government schemes regularly. Pension, wheelchairs and aides are also being provided as per required.
