Call centre for “ASAR” set up at Bhopal

Directives to Indore and Khandwa collectors

Bhopal, December 6, 2015 (Ataullah Faizan):   ‘Apni Suvidha-Apna Ration’ (ASAR) scheme has been implemented at all fair price shops in Indore and Khandwa cities from December 1. As a result, consumers of both the cities are obtaining ration from fair price shops of their choice. State Electronics Development Corporation has set up a call centre on state level at Bhopal to remove difficulties in operation of Point of Sale Machines. Its phone number is 0755-2574333. Besides, District Nodal Officers have also been appointed. Directives have been given to Indore and Khandwa collectors by Food and Civil Supplies Department regarding ‘ASAR’ system. Aadhar number registration of fair price shop sellers and their associates has been made mandatory for Indore and Khandwa cities under ‘ASAR’. They have also been trained to operate Point of Sale Machines. Under the new system, quota for eligible families for the first month has been released.

Under the system, a fair price shop can be allotted up to maximum 3 times more than its initial monthly allotment in Khandwa and Indore cities. Eligible families whose Aadhar Numbers are registered in database can purchase food grains from any fair price shop of their choice. Remaining families will get materials from their fair price shop only. Responsibility to ensure adequate stocks of food grains at fair price shops in Indore and Khandwa cities under ‘ASAR’ has been entrusted to District Supply Controller and District Manager of State Civil Supplies Corporation.
