3.17 crore online applications disposed of under Public Service Delivery Guarantee Act

Guarantee given for time-bound delivery of 161 services of 23 departments

Bhopal, December 9, 2015 (Ataullah Faizan):  Madhya Pradesh Public Services Delivery Guarantee Act-2010 is a novel initiative to empower people. The Act is an important link in Chief Minister Mr. Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s efforts for good governance. Through it, guarantee has been given to deliver identified services to common people within time-limit. This is a unique, historic and revolutionary initiative for good governance. The Act is clear-cut proof of commitment of Chief Minister Mr. Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s government to people’s aspirations. So far, 161 services of 23 departments have been notified under the Act. Of these, online applications are being accepted for delivery of services. Under the Act, 3 crore 17 lakh out of total 3 crore 44 lakh have been disposed of. Provision has also been made in the Act to impose fine on officers for negligence. So far, fine of Rs. 13 lakh 82 thousand has been imposed on 274 designated officers.

Amount of Rs. 5 lakh 20 realised as fine has been distributed to 541 applicants.  Madhya Pradesh is the first state in the country to give guarantee to deliver public services to people within time limit. Following it, over 20 states including Bihar, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Delhi, Jammu-Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Jharkhand etc. have also replicated Madhya Pradesh’s Act.
