MoS for school education Mr. Joshi at “Akshar Mitra Mela”
Bhopal, December 8, 2015 (Muslim Saleem): Furniture will be made available to Government Maulana Azad Central Library. This was stated by Minister of State for Higher and School Education Mr. Deepak Joshi at Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam memorial children’s book exhibition ‘Akshar Mitra Mela’ at the library here today. Mr. Joshi announced to give Rs. 51 thousand from his discretionary fund. Mr. Joshi said that books show path to move ahead. He said that I accept books, copies and pens as birthday gifts and later distribute them among children. Mr. Joshi promised to present books to be received by him on next birthday to the library. Following inspection of the library, he said that books available there should be digitalized. Mr. Joshi flagged off a bus of National Book Trust containing books.
Along with motivating children to read books in slum areas, the bus will also distribute books. Mr. Joshi gave away prizes to girl students Baby Sonam, Baby Ankita, Baby Sanjana, Baby Disha and Baby Priya for excellence in speech and writing. He also released children’s book ‘Bhool Ka Ehsas’ authored by Mr. Anil Saxena. Collector Mr. Nishant Warwade said that libraries have played important role in acquiring him the post he is holding. He said that library must also have internet facility.
Mr. Warwade said that no other friends are needed when someone befriends books. He said that foreigners come to India to live quality life relinquishing mechanical life in their countries. Mr. Varun Gupta of National Book Trust said that the trust intends to open its outlet at Bhopal. CII’s representative Mr. Pradeep Karamwelkar has given economic assistance to ‘Akshar Mitra Mela’. Librarian Mrs. Vandana Sharma threw light on activities of the library.
