Bhopal, December 8, 2015 (Ataullah Faizan): Chief Secretary Mr. Anthony de Sa chaired a meeting of Sarv Shiksha Abhiyan Mission at Mantralaya here today. The meeting reviewed activities of the Mission and endorsed various proposals. ACS School Education Mr. S.R. Mohanthy and other officers attended the meeting. The Chief Secretary said that it is responsibility of the state government to get admitted in schools from 6 to 14 years of age under Children’s Right to Free and Compulsory Education Act 2009 and ensure that they are imparted quality teaching. He said that the children who are still deprived of schooling should be got admitted in schools in accordance with their age and connected with mainstream of education. The meeting approved conduct of special boys residential training centres for unadmitted children and school drop outs, residential schools and residential hostel centres and non-residential special training centres.
It was informed that Central government has sanctioned to conduct 1069 non-residential special training centres for 21 thousand 386 unadmitted children and school drop outs of 6 to 14 years of age in 34 districts of the state. The Central government has sanctioned 250 boys residential training centres for children from 6 to 14 years of age at 10 divisional headquarters and 51 non-residential special training centres of 100 boys each in 41 districts. These centres will benefit total 6600 children.
