Forest Minister Dr. Shejwar inaugurates international herbal fair
Bhopal, December 12, 2015 (Abdul Ahad Farhan): Herbal Fair of Madhya Pradesh has played a significant role in brightening image of Ayurveda in the world. The fair started since year 2001 has assumed form of international event crossing borders of the country. This was stated by Forest Minister Dr. Gaurishankar Shejwar while inaugurating International Herbal Fair 2015 at Lal Parade Ground here today. Dr. Shejwar said that all pathies are complimentary to each other. Sometimes, allopathy gives instant relief to a patient while Ayurveda eradicates the disease forever. Herbal products of neighbouring countries Srilanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan and various states of India are also available at the Fair. The Forest Minister said that it is matter of pride that unique herbs, medicinal plants and products of various states including Gujarat, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Andhra Pradesh etc. are available at the fair.
The Minister stressed that only installing stalls is not enough, customers should also be given information about products at every stall. Dr. Shejwar also directed the corporation to publish a book containing information about various herbs and their products. The Minister said that on many occasions, tribals reveal secrets about herbs only to their generations. These secrets may become extinct if their new generation abandons traditional occupation due to other employments. Therefore, Laghu Vanopaj Sangh should make efforts to preserve this knowledge.
Dr. Shejwar said that Vindhya Herbal brand products of Laghu Vanopaj Sangh had lived upto national and international norms due to their quality, purity and credibility. Mr. Shejwar said that Madhya Pradesh is a treasure trove of herbs. Tribal of Raisen district identify a herb which is helpful in warding off hunger for many days. This herb can be used in controlling obesity, which is considered as root cause of several diseases. People are resorting to even surgery to get rid of obesity.
