Food Minister Kunwar Shah at meeting of Burhanpur DPC
Bhopal, December 21, 2015 (Ataullah Faizan): Food and Civil Supplies Minister and minister in-charge of Burhanpur district Kunwar Vijay Shah has directed to prepare project for banana powder for nutritious diet at Anganwadis in view of abundance of banana production in the district. He said that for this, training may be imparted to local entrepreneurs. Minister Kunwar Shah was addressing a meeting of District Planning Committee at Burhanpur today. He also directed to provide banana as nutritious diet to children of anganwadis 3 days a week. MP Mr. Nand Kumar Singh Chouhan, former Minister Mrs. Archana Chitnis and MLA Mr. Rajendra Dadu were also present on the occasion.
Kunwar Shah also reviewed construction works costing over Rs. 50 lakh. Kunwar Shah said that loans should be extended for handcarts to 50 beneficiaries each in every development block of the district and 5 beneficiaries each in every ward of Burhanpur Municipal Corporation. MP Mr. Chouhan informed that road from Ichhapur in the district upto Indore road has been sanctioned as National Highway. The meeting was informed that pod (Phali) of Sojna is beneficial for replenishment of iron in bodies of children. A sum of Rs. 20 lakh has been collected through public participation to provide better facilities to children of anganwadis in the district.
Arrangements for furniture are being made using this amount. Saplings of Sojna tree have been planted at 100 anganwadi centres. In the district, forest right pattas have been distributed to 7000 forest dwellers. Minister Kunwar Shah inaugurated 3-day Burhanpur Utsav displaying district’s historic heritages, arts and culture. Kunwar Shah said that Khooni Bhandara of Burhanpur is a unique water supply scheme. Such system was not witnessed anywhere in the country. Such systems are stated to exist only in Iran. He said that Iran’s President has been invited to Burhanpur. Kunwar Shah said that Aseergarh Fort in the district is also very famous in history. This fort should be renovated and beautified on priority. Folk dances will also be presented during Utsav.
