ESI hospitals also to be opened for unorganized labourers

antar24.12.15Bhopal, December 24, 2015 (Abdul Ahad Farhan):   Labour Minister Mr. Antar Singh Arya chaired a departmental advisory committee here today. The meeting was informed that the Central government has decided to open ESI hospitals for unorganized sector labourers also. Process is on to open dispensaries of Employees State Insurance at Goregaon, Pandhurna and Saunsar in Chhindwara district, Damoh, Nimrani in Khargone district, Singrauli in Sidhi district and Bina in Sagar district. As many as 16 thousand 648 labourers and their families of these areas will get benefit of treatment on completion of the scheme. Recruitments to fill up vacancies in ESI hospitals will be made from December 28 to 31. Member MLA Mr. Champalal Deora and Labour Commissioner Mr. K.C. Gupta were also present at the meeting.

  Mr. Arya informed that so far over 28 lakh construction workers in the state have been provided benefits worth Rs. 503 crore 73 lakh. Mr. Arya informed that for the first time, highly skilled workers have also been included under Minimum Wages Act. Mr. Arya said that for the first time in the country, Shramodaya Vidyalayas for children of labourers are being constructed at Bhopal, Indore, Gwalior and Jabalpur. Construction of Shramodaya Vidyalaya at Bhopal has started. Tenders have been passed at Indore and administrative sanction has been accorded at Gwalior. Every Vidyalaya will be constructed at a cost of about Rs. 50 crore.
