Hari’s sonorous tunes reverberate on banks of Kshipra

3-day “Anugoonj” concludes at Ujjain

hari25.12.15Bhopal, December 25, 2015 (Ataullah Faizan):  Moonlit night of Wednesday turned out to be a memorable event for residents of Ujjain. For the first time, sonorous tunes of Padmabhushan Pt. Hari Prasad Chaurasia on flute reverberated on Ramghat on banks of Kshipra. Pt. Chaurasia’s presentations in Rag Yaman and Rag Pahadi weaved such a magic that audience were left spell-bound. Three-day ‘Anugoong’ was held under joint aegis of Culture Department and local administration in the context of Simhastha-2016. Beats of Pakhawaj accompanying flute presentation also glued the audience to their seats. Hari Prasad Chaurasia gave presentation in Rag Yaman in 2 phases.

In the first phase, Pt. Bhawani Shankar gave him accompaniment on Pakhawaj and second phase tabla maestro Mr. Yogesh Shamsi. Besides on the same stage, unique and miraculous paintings depicting life of Lord Mr. Krishna also attracted audience. Dhrupad and Khayal presentations were given on the first day of ‘Anugoonj’, Rag Saraswati and Rag Shyam Kalyan under ‘Spandan’ on the second day and Rag Yaman and Rag Pahadi on Wednesday on the banks of Kshipra. The 3-day ‘Anugoong’ concluded in the moonlit night of Wednesday.
