Governor inaugurates Pt. Madan Mohan Malviya lecture series
Bhopal, December 26, 2015 (Ataullah Faizan): Governor Mr. Ram Naresh Yadav has said that Bharat Ratna Mahanama late Pt. Madan Mohan Malviya gave the message of uniting all religions and communities in the country. He inspired children of all sections of society to join mainstream by imparting teaching and abolishing discriminations and untouchability. The Governor stated this at lecture series held to mark Pt. Malviya’s 154th birth anniversary by BHU Alumni Welfare Council, Bhopal here today. The Governor inaugurated function by garlanding a photograph of Pt. Malviya. The Governor said that Pt. Malviya had special attachment to education. Had he not established Banaras Hindu University, the dreams of innumerable youths of that time like him to acquire higher education and get higher posts could not be fulfilled.
The Governor said that along with being a journalist, social reformer and politician, Pt. Malviya was also an eminent advocate. Through his wisdom, ability and arguments, he had saved 151 accused of Chaura-Chauri case from the gallows. BHU is the pillar of his eminence manifesting, his vast wisdom & resolve, patriotism, activeness, devotion and spirit of sacrifice. Keynote speaker, Director of Indira Gandhi National Open University and former Vice Chancellor of Patna University Prof. Shambhu Nath Singh said that personality of late Pt. Madan Mohan Malviya was very great and multi-dimensional.
His contributions as journalist, political leader, educationist and builder of modern India can never be forgotten. His illustrious speeches impressed people very much and discussions on them were held in the British Parliament. He had deep-rooted ideology based on Indian culture and civilization. Through establishment of BHU, he sought to impart education based on Indian culture and civilization as well as modern education. Senior political analyst Mr. Girija Shankar said that late Malviya Ji played a significant role in freedom movement and social reforms. Malviya Ji believed that country and society can be developed only through good and cultured students. OSD of Madhya Pradesh Madhyam Mr. Pushpendra Singh expressed a vote of thanks. Dr. Subhash Singh delivered the welcome address. Mr. Vinod Yadav of Millennium Group felicitated the Governor with shawl and coconut.
