Christmas celebrated under series of respect to all religions
Messages of Christ can build terrorism-free society: Mr. Chouhan
Bhopal, December 27, 2015 (Abdul Ahad Farhan): Carrying forward tradition of respect to all religions, Christmas was celebrated with joy and fervour at CM House here today. CM House reverberated with Christmas Carols. Chief Minister Mr. Shivraj Singh Chouhan and his wife Mrs. Sadhana Singh participated in Lord Christ’s birth anniversary celebrations. The Chief Minister cut the cake and extended Christmas greetings. It is noteworthy that Chief Minister Mr. Chouhan has started tradition of celebrating festivals of all major religions at CM House. The Chief Minister said that ideals of Lord Jesus Christ need to be practiced to build a society based on peace, brotherhood, compassion and love. A terrorism-free society can be built only through path of love and peace. He said that it is better to kindle light than cursing darkness.
The Chief Minister said that he considers himself as a servant of humanity and is engaged in re-building of the state with this spirit. Archbishop Leo Carnelio said that Christ has taught us to be simple and truthful. Lord has unflinching trust in humans. Human society needs to be more liberal today. Love, peace, spirit of service and compassions are the need of the hour.
The Chief Minister felicitated Archbishop Carnelio on behalf of people of the state on being felicitated at servant of human rights by All-India Council of Human Rights. Christian community felicitated the Chief Minister for implementing welfare schemes for them and wished him illustrious long life. Plays focusing on tales of birth of Lord Jesus Christ and his teachings were also staged. Chief Minister House reverberated with Christmas carols.
