Ujjain to have 6 satellite towns

28 routes fixed for public transport

Bhopal, January 4, 2016 (Ataullah Faizan):    For Simhastha-2016 as many as 6 satellite towns are being constructed in Ujjain where arrangements for water, toilets and shade will be made for devotees. For all satellite towns 393 hectare land has been allotted. These satellite towns are coming up at Engineering College, Sanwrakheri, Soybean Plant, Dewas, Panwasa Maksi Road, Unhel Road, Agar Road and Badnagar Road. Parking arrangements on the occasion of Shahi Snan will be made at these places. For concrete security arrangements during Simhastha, CC TV cameras have been installed at 134 places. As many as 25 thousand police personnel will be deployed in Mela area. During Simhastha, 2116 divers will be deployed at ghats.

For public transport 28 routes have been prescribed on which 1000 Magic vechiles and 400 mini buses will be plied. For disabled persons, e-rickshaws will operate upto Mahakal and Ramghat. Ujjain Development Authority is undertaking whitewashing and beautification of Kshipra ghats, construction of changing room and beautification of temples. Two water treatment plants of 7.75 MGD capacity each are being set up at Ujjain. Of these, water treatment plant at Gau Ghat has been completed at a cost of Rs. 6 crore 17 lakh.

This plant will treat 6 MGD water during Simhastha. Large-scale construction works for Akhadas are being made at Ujjain, which will give a new look to Akhadas in coming days. These works mainly pertain to sitting rooms in various Akhadas as per their requirement, kitchen, approach roads and electrification. CC road has already been constructed from main road to Akhada premises.
