Simhastha to be child and disabled-friendly


Bhopal, January 6, 2016 (Ataullah Faizan):  Simhastha-2016 will be child and disabled-friendly. Arrangements are being made in Mela area to ensure that children and disabled persons can easily and safely bathe during Simhastha. Commissioner Ujjain division Dr. Ravindra Pastor informed that there will be no child begging in Mela area. The commissioner is undertaking regular review of preparations. Collector was also present on the occasion. The Commissioner informed that subject expert Mr. Pankaj Maru has been appointed to make Simhastha-2016 child and disabled-friendly. After surveying Mela area, Mr. Maru will give necessary advices and suggestions to Mela administration.

The meeting reviewed action to remove encroachments and directed to remove encroachments strictly. It was decided to send letters to managements of temples on whose premises beggars sit to take necessary action against beggars. Elderly beggars should be sent to Ambodiya Sewadham and child beggars to shelter homes. It was informed that bike-ambulances will also be deployed during Simhastha. They would be deployed in crowded areas where entry of large vehicles will be difficult.

Arrangements of digital display boards for vehicle parking will be made during Simhastha for better parking facility. Passenger vehicles will be available to devotees every 7-8 minutes. Arrangements are being made through which vehicle owners will be informed from 10 kms distance as to where parking place is available. In entire Mela area, 10 parking places have been earmarked.
