CS inspects Simhastha-related works at Omkareshwar


cs7.1.16Bhopal, January 7, 2016 (Ataullah Faizan):  Chief Secretary Mr. Anthony de Sa took stock of works related to Simhastha-2016 at Omkareshwar today. ACS Water Resources Mr. Radheshyam Julaniya, MLA Mr. Lokendra Singh, Principal Secretary PWD Mr. Pramod Agrawal, Principal Secretary Urban Development Mr. Malay Shrivastava, divisional Commissioner Mr. Sanjay Dube, DIG Mr. Dilip Arya and other senior officers were present on the occasion. CS took stock of progress of construction of public facility centres and toilets between Mortakka and Omkareshwar. He also inspected construction of 2-lane road between these 2 places .

He directed to complete remaining works at the earliest. Mr. de Sa took stock of construction of new ghats at Nagar Ghat, Abhay Ghat and Sangam ghat and directed to complete all construction works by February end. He also inspected venue of proposed pontoon bridge near Sangam Ghat during Simhastha. CS directed for an additional road linking all Narmada ghats. He also inspected construction of bypass and bridge near Markandey Ashram. CS also inspected the road from Khargone district boundary upto Omkareshwar via Narmada canal. He took stock of construction of new bridge on Mortakka trisection.

Construction agency informed that the bridge would be completed in next 10 days. It was informed that total 17 public toilets and public facility centres are being constructed between Mortakka and Omkareshwar. The centres will have facilities of shade, drinking water and toilets for devotees. Permanent construction of toilets and passenger facility centres is being made wherever government land is available. Temporary construction of toilets and passenger facility centre are being constructed on private land. A number of construction works to facilitate devotees are also underway on Omkar Hill. All construction works will be completed by March.
