Several facilities for delightful sightseeing

hanuwa14.1.16Bhopal, January 14, 2016 (Ataullah Faizan): It can be any tourist’s dream to play with Narmada waves amidst dense, green natural landscape playing with waves of the Narmada river in an ethereal atmosphere. This dream is going to come true soon. ‘Jal-Mahotsav’ to be held in Asia’s largest man-made reservoir Indira Sagar will give opportunity to tourists beyond their imagination. Preparations for the festival are in full swing on Hanuwantiya lsland of Indira Sagar in Khandwa district. State Tourism Development Corporation is developing the island as an attractive tourist destination. It has 10 cottages for tourists.

One cruise and 2 motorboats have been arranged. It is noteworthy that tourists have started arriving there. Several adventure activities including water sports will be held during the festival. Tourists will also have opportunity to savour delicious delicacies of country and state, artistic crafts and glimpses of culture and traditions, specially of Nimar-Malwa region. Adventurous trip to Mel group of islands, 12 kms from Hanuwantiya will be an added attraction. Tourists will be taken there by cruise ‘Narmada Queen’ and motorboats.

Camp fire will be held, delicacies served and entertainment programmes will be held at this unique place. During Water Festival, an exhibition focusing on Simhastha-2016 and tourism activities in the state will be put up. Land for ‘Tent City’ to be developed at this venue has been leveled. Tents in the Tent City will be quipped with facilities like Swiss cottages for tourists. Arrangements of helipad and parking have also been made. Stage will be erected for cultural programmes. Samadhi of Sant Singaji, the epitome of Nimar region’s belief and devotion, is also nearby. This will serve as added attraction for tourists from nearby places.
