CM reviews activities of public health & family welfare department
Bhopal, January 20, 2016 (Muslim Saleem): Chief Minister Mr. Shivraj Singh Chouhan has directed for concrete sanitation arrangements in hospitals. He stressed the need for a centralized system for effective monitoring of sanitation works. Mr. Chouhan was reviewing activities of Public Health & Family Welfare Department at Mantralaya here today. Public Health & Family Welfare Minister Dr. Narottam Mishra, Minister of State Mr. Sharad Jain, Chief Secretary Mr. Anthony de Sa, Principal Secretary Public Health & Family Welfare Mrs. Gauri Singh, Commissioner Public Health & Family Welfare Mr. Pankaj Agrawal and other senior officers attended the meeting.
The Chief Minister said that efforts should be made to constantly improve the works to serve suffering humanity. He said that operation theatres in government and private hospitals should be of high quality. They should be inspected from time to time. He directed to strengthen treatment systems in view of possibilities of swine flu due to climate change. The Chief Minister was informed that effective treatment arrangements have been made. Medicines and other materials for treatment are stored in adequate quantity. Number of ventilators has also doubled compared to last year. The Chief Minister was also informed about ultra sound sonography and X-ray machines’ operations in hospitals. It was informed that 94 percent machines are in working condition.
Its centralized monitoring is being undertaken. On being informed about availability of dialysis and chemotherapy in all district hospitals, the Chief Minister directed to conduct a public awareness campaign for this. He also directed to use social media for this so that maximum number of patients avail benefit of these services. The meeting was informed that initiative is being taken to ban sale of loose cigarettes in the state. Nursing homes registration process has been made online. It was also informed that against target of establishment of one thousand health centres as envisaged in Vision Document 2018, two thousand health centres are being established.
