Selection of private engineering college professors through TET

Technical Education Minister undertakes review

gupta24.1.16Bhopal, January 24, 2016 (Ataullah Faizan):  Only the teachers having passed teachers eligibly test (TET) would teach in private engineering colleges in the state. Test would be conducted on February 21. Higher and Technical Education Minister Mr. Umashankar Gupta has said that this selection process should also be adopted in private polytechnic colleges and ITIs to ensure teaching quality. Mr. Gupta reviewed departmental schemes here today.

The meeting was informed that Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidalaya has implemented Credit Basis Choice System to improve exam system. CC TV cameras have been installed at exam centres. Interviews for practicals will be held online from next academic session. Recruitment of 314 lecturers has been made in polytechnic colleges. Exam for recruitment of assistant professors will also be conducted on the basis of GATE-2016. New engineering colleges have been opened at Shahdol and Jhabua during current session.

An engineering college under RUSA is being opened at Dhar and another at Shivpuri with the cooperation of NTPC. Wi-fi and smart classes have been started in all engineering colleges in the state.  Mr. Gupta also reviewed activities of Skill Development Department. Director Skill Develoment Mr. M. Sibi Chakravarty, Director Technical Education Mr. Ashish Dongare and Additional Secretary Mr. Sunil Gupta were also present on the occasion.
