Team taking part in R-Day parade in Delhi also to visit Wagah border

Team members meet HE minister and minister of state for higher education

gupta2.2.16Bhopal, February 2, 2016 (Abdul Ahad Farhan):  Members of the National Service Scheme team who took part in Republic Day parade and gave salute to President Mr. Pranab Mukherjee in New Delhi will be sent on a visit to Wagah border. This was stated by Higher and Technical Education Minister Mr. Umashankar Gupta to team members who called on him here today. Mr. Gupta said that such moments are rare in life. Team members should harbour these experiences and spirit in life.

He said that information in the form of booklet should be given to cadets who will take part in next year’s Republic Day parade for distribution to other states’ students. Mr. Gupta said that special training should be imparted to students selected for the parade by holding a camp. They should also be made aware of previous participants. Mr. Gupta lauded the student recipients of Indira Gandhi Award. Minister of State for Higher Education Mr. Deepak Joshi exhorted students to disseminate to the masses the spirit generated in them during participation in parade on the Raj Path. He said that soul of the country dwells in villages.

Students should constantly contact villagers and become partners in their socio-economic development. Team members shared their experiences. They informed about their meetings with the Prime Minister and the President in New Delhi. Team was led by Dr. Purnima Lorwal. Regional Director NSS Mr. D.N. Garhwal. Programme Coordinator Dr. Anant Kumar Saxena and Mr. Rahul Ahirwar were also present on the occasion.
