Bhopal, February 3, 2016 (Ataullah Faizan): The State Government has announced policy for custom milling of paddy procured on support price during the year 2015-16. As per provisions of the policy, for custom milling of procured paddy will be done by a state agency through mills which are preferably at minimum distance from venue of storage on first come first serve principle. Custom milling of Arwa as well as Usna rice can be done. It has been provisioned in the policy to give Rs. 25 per quintal milling incentive on Arwa rice as decided by the Central government to procurement agency and Rs. 15 per quintal on Usna rice in first 3 months and Rs. 10 per quintal if provided to Food Corporation of India after 3 months. Custom milled Usna rice must be invariably supplied to FCI. Transport rate to millers will be given as prescribed by a standing committee chaired by Commissioner Food and Civil Supplies. Incentive for milling to procurement agencies will be reimbursed by the state government. Directives have been given to ensure custom milling invariably by June 30, 2016.
