CM reviews activities of medical education department

cm medicl4.2.16Bhopal, February 4, 2016 (Abdul Ahad Farhan):  Chief Minister Mr. Shivraj Singh Chouhan reviewed activities of Medical Education Department here today. He said that machines available in all district hospitals and hospitals attached to medical colleges must always be in working condition. Action will be taken against all responsible officers and employees if machines are found non-operational. The Chief Minister directed to turn hospitals into excellent health institutions. He said that arrangements of experts should be made for bypass surgery and other serious diseases and operations. There is no lack of funds for this. He said that ongoing construction works for expansion of health facilities in district hospitals and hospitals attached to medical colleges must be completed within time-limit.

The Chief Minister directed for constant monitoring of teaching, management and training work in nursing colleges. The meeting was informed that second regional virology lab being set up at Bhopal Medical College will be completed in next 3 months. Virology labs at Gwalior, Sagar, Indore, Rewa and Jabalpur medical colleges will be set up in collaboration with Central government. Under Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana, super spciality block is being constructed at Gwalior, Rewa and Jabalpur. State Cancer Institute will be set up in Jabalpur Medical College. Central government will bear 75 percent of total budget for establishment.

Similarly, Tertiary Cancer Care Centre will be set up at Gwalior. In collaboration with Central government, a modern lab is being established at Gwalior for TB patients’ health examination with modern methods. Multi-disciplinary research units will be set up in collaboration its with Central government at Rewa, Gwalior, Jabalpur and Indore. Medical Education Minister Dr. Narottam Mishra, Minister of State for Medical Education Mr. Sharad Jain, Chief Secretary Mr. Anthony de Sa and other senior officers attended the meeting.
