Kunwar Shah undertakes review at planning committee’s meeting
Bhopal, February 5, 2016 (Ataullah Faizan): Food & Civil Supplies Minister and in-charge of Khargone district Kunwar Vijay Shah directed PHE Department to chalk out an action plan to ensure smooth drinking water supply arrangements during summer. The Minister was addressing a meeting of District Planning Committee at Jhirniya in Khargone district on Wednesday. MLAs Balkrishna Patidar, Rajkumar Mev, Hitendra Singh Solanki, Vijay Singh Solanki, Sachin Yadav and Mrs. Jhuma Solanki attended the meeting.
The Minister said that handpumps of villages with sharp decline in groundwater level should be identified. He directed PHE staff for constant field visits. The meeting also reviewed public distribution system. The Minister informed that wages of fair price shop salesmen have been increased to Rs. 8400 per month. Soon every Gram Panchayat will have a fair price shop. The Minister reviewed ongoing construction works costing over Rs. 50 lakh. He urged local representatives to motivate farmers to install solar pumps. The state government gives 80 percent subsidy on solar irrigation pumps.
