Chief Minister Mr. Shivraj Singh Chouhan will participate in Swachchhata Mahotsav at Budhni in Sehore district on February 8. The programme is being held since Budhni Janpad’s cent percent Gram Panchayats have become open defecation free. Panchayats & Rural Development Minister Mr. Gopal Bhargava and Sehore district’s in-charge Minister Mr. Rampal Singh will be special guests on the occasion. Due to efforts of villagers, Swachchha Doots, monitoring committees and departmental staff, 138 village under 62 Gram Panchayats in Budhni development blocks in Sehore district have become open defecation free. This would be observed as Swachchhata Mahotsav. At the programme, pledge will be administered to villagers and public representatives to maintain Gram Panchayats as open defecation free. As token of sanitation, Swachchhata Balloon will be released in the air at the programme. Chief Minister Mr. Shivraj Singh Chouhan will announce budget and sanction works for solid and liquid waste management and development of Smart Villages in second phase of Gram Panchayats. Sarapanchs, Village Secretaries, Village Job Assistants, Swachchhata Doots, members of monitoring committees and public representatives with special cooperation will be honored for distinguished work towards making Gram Panchayats open defecation free. The Chief Minister will also dedicated 12 construction works costing over Rs. 26 crore 59 lakh and lay foundation stones of 4 works costing over Rs. 13 crore 23 lakh.
