Bhopal, February 23, 2016 (Ataullah Faizan):  Simhastha-2016 will have best of arrangements. Ujjain’s in-charge and Transport Minister Mr. Bhupendra Singh inspected preparations for Simhastha on Sunday. He said that the state government is making massive arrangements for the mega event. For this, Ujjain city has also received a number of permanent gifts. Mr. Singh said that there would no paucity of funds for successful and safe Simhastha. He said that the Chief Minister is himself monitoring the arrangements. Modern technology will be used effectively for security during Simhastha, he added. Works costing Rs. 3092 crore have been undertaken for Simhastha-2016. A sum of Rs. 262 crore was spent on Simhastha-2004. For cultural and creative atmosphere during Simhastha, Culture Department has introduced Anugoonj programme comprising songs, music and drama. Its 3rd series Anugoonj-3 will be organized at Ujjain from February 23 to 25.

During it, talent search competitions will be held simultaneously in 5 stages and over 1500 artistes of various singing, music and dance disciplines will perform including eminent folk singers Mrs. Teejan Bai, Mrs. Sanjo Baghel and Mrs. Malini Awasthi. Salient feature of this round of Anugoonj is that for the first time, eminent female singers of the country are going to take part in it. These are the female singers who have been mesmerising and hypnotizing audiences all over the country and world with their performances.

Besides, every cultural presentation by them has been linked to basic nature, traditions and social concerns. Culture Department has made efforts to knit such a music fest of these artistes during Anugooj-3 that will be memorable for long. Padmabhushan Mrs. Teejan Bai, the folk artist of undivided Madhya Pradesh and now Chhattisgarh will perform on February 23. She has been singing various anecdotes of great Indian epic Mahabharat in regional dialect leaving audiences spell bound in country and world. On February 24, Mrs. Sanjo Bai will perform who has been mesmerizing audiences in religious festivals like Navratri year-round for hours.
