A budget to realize dreams of poor and weaker sections

Bhopal, February 27, 2016 (Ataullah Faizan):  Chief Minister Mr. Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that budget presented in Vidhan Sabha today is balanced, development-oriented, aims at creating employment and realizing dreams of poor and weaker sections. The Chief Minister said that this is a revolutionary budget given the current global conditions. In it, resources have been mobilized intelligently. The Chief Minister said that the budget will accelerate pace of state’s development. With this budget, Madhya Pradesh has joined select list of the states where budget exceeds Rs. 1.50 lakh crore. Adequate increase has been made in provisions for all infrastructure development sectors including roads, power and irrigation. In irrigation sector, stressed has been laid on completing old projects along with starting new ones. Adequate funds have been allocated in infrastructure development sector. The Chief Minister said that priority has been attached in the budget to agriculture and allied sectors. For this, about Rs. 23 thousand crore has been earmarked. Besides, it has also focused on education, health, industries and social sectors. Priority has also been attached to women’s empowerment and employment creation. Adequate funds have been earmarked for tourism, urban and rural development and drinking water arrangements. The budget has also provisioned arrangements to provide loans and grants for self-employment to one lakh youths.
