2-day workshop on disaster and medical management concludes at Ujjain

1200 persons connected with healthcare participate

Bhopal, March 3, 2016 (Abdul Ahad Farhan):  A 2-day training workshop on disaster and medical management in the context of Simhastha from April 22 to May 21 concluded at Ujjain today. Experts from America delivered lectures on disaster and medical management at the workshop where training was imparted to 1200 personnel. Simhastha Mela Authority’s Chairman Mr. Diwakar Natu said that Simhastha during summer will be important from the point of view of health. Over 5 crore devotees are expected to attend Simhastha. Participants of the workshop were imparted training about drowning, electric shock, snake bite, suffering heat stroke during summer, food poisoning due to rotten food stuffs and prevention in these situations.  The state government will deploy 80 Food Inspectors to test food stuffs during Simhastha.

Union Director Veterinary Dr. S.N. Sharma informed about malaria control programme being implemented in Ujjain. AIIMS New Delhi’s Dr. Praveen Agrawal, Atlanta, America’s Dr. Vikas Kapil, Dr. Ziyad Qazi, Deputy Director Health Services Dr. Sujit Singh, Dr. Arthur Yessi and Dr. Kaila Larsson from USA delivered lectures on disaster and medical management. The experts laid emphasis on effective coordination in times of emergencies. Special attention will be paid to security of children during Simhastha. Women’s Empowerment Department will set up 10 Lost & Found Centres in Simhastha Mela area. Use of information technology will be made to trace children and parents. Six of centres will be in Mela area and 4 at railway station and bus stand.
