Wear pink clothes that show respect for women

Chief secretary desires from officers

Bhopal, March 4, 2016 (Ataullah Faizan):  Chief Secretary Mr. Anthony de Sa has urged senior officers to wear pink clothes on International Women’s Day – March 8 to show respect towards women. In this regard, he has written a letter to ACSs, Principal Secretaries and Secretaries. CS said in the letter that participation of males is necessary in success of government programmes and schemes for women’s empowerment. Role of fathers, sons, brothers, husbands, friends and male co-workers is vital in creation of discrimination-free and fearless environment for women. CS said that International Women’s Day – March 8 – is the occasion for males to express solidarity and active involvement in creating a sensitive society with commitment to honour and respect for women. Therefore, it is desired that officers should wear pink clothes (kurta, shirt, stole) and motivate male subordinate staff for this on that day. He said that common people should also wear pink clothes as a symbol. CS said that for this, a campaign is being conducted by Directorate of Women Empowerment.
