Databank of government-maintained temples to be prepared

MLAs will decide on traditional sports of their respective constituencies

scindi16.3.16Bhopal, March 16, 2016 (Ataullah Faizan):  A databank of government-maintained temples will be prepared. MLA’s will decide on which traditional sports will be played under ‘Vidhayak Cup’ in their respective constituencies. This was decided at a meeting of Endowment, Sports and Youth Welfare Department’s advisory committee chaired by departmental Minister Mrs. Yashodhara Raje Scindia.   Mrs. Scindia informed that this year, Divayang of all age groups will be able to avail benefit of Mukhyamantri Tirth-Darshan Yojana with escorts. Mrs. Scindia informed that databank of all government-maintained temples in every Vidhan Sabha constituency will be prepared. She urged MLAs present at the meeting to cooperate in this process. The Minister said that a committee should be constituted comprising archaeologists, architects, Pandits etc for renovation of ancient temples. MLAs suggested that DPR for temples’ renovation should be prepared by Archaeology Department.

Describing MLA’s Cup as a novel initiative of Sports and Youth Welfare Departments, MLAs urged to expand it. The Minister directed that MLA’s will decide on which traditional sports should be played under ‘Vidhayak Cup’ in their respective constituencies. District Sports Officers will coordinate with MLAs to hone talents of rural sportspersons. Member MLAs Mr. Girish Bhandari, Mr. Divyaraj Singh, Mr. Ashish Govind Sharma and Mr. Dilip Singh attended the meeting.
