Donations in army welfare fund enhance prestige of country

Governor Mr. Yadav at meeting of amalgamated special fund

guv16.3.16Bhopal, March 16, 2016 (Abdul Ahad Farhan):  Governor Mr. Ram Naresh Yadav has said that people’s participation in welfare schemes for martyrs’s family not only enhances prestige of society, but also of state. He said that this also boosts soldiers’ morale. The Governor was addressing the 17th meeting of Amalgamated Special Fund (ASF) of Sainik Kalyan Nidhi at Raj Bhavan here today. At the meeting, 3 divisions and collectors of 34 districts were felicitated for exceeding collection target. The Governor said that through donations in this fund, one also gets opportunity to understand and appreciate the difficulties of army personnel, ex-servicemen and their dependents. Mr. Yadav said that donations worth Rs. 2 crore 48 lakh have been collected on Armed Forces Flag Day this year, which is maximum till date. The awardees included Commissioners of Narmadapuram, Jabalpur and Chambal divisions and district collectors of Balaghat, Betul, Bhind, Burhanpur, Chhindwara, Harda, Hoshangabad, Jabalpur, Katni, Khargone, Mandla, Mandsaur, Morena, Narsinghpur, Neemuch, Raisen, Sehore, Seoni, Shahdol, Sheopur, Singrauli, Rajgarh, Vidisha, Ratlam, Alirajpur, Jhabua, Umaria, Dewas, Satna, Panna, Dhar, Chhatarpur, Indore and Tikamgarh. Besides, ex-servicemen Subedar Mr. Shyam Sharan and Mr. Pradeep Rajput were felicitated for outstanding performance.
