“Never thought job will come to door like this”

25 rural youths of Panna district get jobs in star hotels

panna20.3.16Bhopal, March 20, 2016 (Abdul Ahad Farhan):  Dharmendra Yadav says, ‘Never thought that job will come to my door like this’. ‘It is like a dream that Forest Department selected us, bore entire expenses on training and gave appointment letter with training certificate within 2 months’, he added. Dharmendra Yadav is among 25 youths of 9 village around Panna Tiger Reserve, who have obtained jobs in various star hotels across the country. Along with these youths, a surge of happiness is also sweeping across their villages. Selected youths Gyasi Adivasi, Ramdeen Kondar, Santdas, Suresh Yadav, Suraj Yadav, Shailendra Parmar, Tej Singh, Narendra Singh and Rajvinder Singh are thrilled.

Though these youths did not ever venture out of their respective districts, yet they are confident to cope up with new city, new state and new job with high morale to brighten names of their families and villages. Santdas said, ‘I would work hard. There is no worry about lodging and food, which would be arranged by hotel management’. In all, 25 youths of villages Hinauta, Narayan Pura, Dhawgawan etc educated from class VIII to XII were imparted training in hospitality at First Education Foundation at Khajuraho from January 13 to March 25 by Panna tiger reserve management. Along with training certificates, these youths were also given appointment letters.

Most of these youths’ placement has been made in 4-5 star hotels.  Only 2-3 youths’ placement has been made in 3-star hotels since they had wished a job in an area near their homes. The selected youths are going to join duty at Country Club, Pune, Pride Land Resort, Mahabaleshwar, Mana Holy Resort Pali, Rajasthan, Lariya Resort, Jodhpur, Kailash International Badmer, Park Plaza, Jodhpur etc from March 28. They have been entrusted jobs of housekeeping and food & beverages. New training session will begin from April 1. Selection process for it has begun. About 35 youths are expected to take part in it. Training fee would be paid from Panna tiger reserve park development fund.
