State police to get Rs 130 crore from Railways

Railway Minister assures Mr. Gaur

gaur20.3.16Bhopal, March 20, 2016 (Ataullah Faizan):  Railways will give Rs. 130 crore 67 lakh 51 thousand to state’s police Railway Minister Mr. Suresh Prabhu has assured Home and Jails Minister Mr. Babulal Gaur for early action for payment. Mr. Gaur met Railway Minister Mr. Prabhu in New Delhi today and urged him payment of pending amount and sanction of 367 posts of police personnel for new GRP police stations. Mr. Gaur handed over a letter to the Railway Minister informing that as on October 2015, amount of Rs. 130 crore 67 lakh 51 thousand which is 50 percent of salaries and allowances of Railway Police personnel is pending. Audit report has been submitted to the Railways.

Railway Minister Mr. Prabhu assured of early action for payment of pending amount. Mr. Gaur urged for sanction to 367 posts for new railway (GRP) police stations. New posts include 42 for GRP Section Bhopal, 29 Jabalpur and 58 for Indore, which have been sanctioned by Finance Commissions from year 1970 to 1988. In all, 141 posts were created in year 2010-13 and 97 in year 2014-15. Similarly, 41 posts are to be reviewed with consent of Railway Board. Railway Minister Mr. Prabhu said that a high level meeting on railway facilities for devotees during Simhastha and rail safety measures will be held in the first week of April in Delhi. It will be attended by state’s DGP, Head of GRP, RPF and other senior officers connected with railways security. This meeting will be held on the initiative of Mr. Gaur.
