New guidelines to prevent accidents at tourist spots to be framed

lead22.3.16Bhopal, March 22, 2016 (Muslim Saleem):  Chief Minister Mr. Shivraj Singh Chouhan has ordered a high level enquiry into boat mishap in Lower Lake of Bhopal. Condoling deaths in the accident, he announced grant of Rs. 2 lakh each to the affected families. Besides, he also directed to frame guidelines to prevent recurrence of such accidents. The Chief Minister convened an emergency meeting of officers for prevention of accidents at tourist spots at Mantralaya today. The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Mr. Anthony de Sa, Special DGP Intelligence Mr. Sarabjeet Singh, Principal Secretary Urban Development & Environment Mr. Malay Shrivastava, Secretaries to CM Mr. Hari Ranjan Rao and Mr. Vivek Agrawal, Collector Mr. Nishant Warwade and Commissioner of Bhopal Municipal Corporation Mr. Tejaswi Nayak. The Chief Minister said that boat mishap in Lower Lake of Bhopal is very unfortunate. He directed to ensure action as per conclusions of the enquiry. He said that detailed guidelines should be framed to prevent recurrence of such accidents. Besides, strict compliance of these guidelines should be ensured. Strict action should be taken on violence of guidelines, he added. These guidelines will be enforced at all tourist spots, water bodies including rivers, lakes, dams, reservoirs etc. Departments concerned with tourism will make arrangements for watchmen etc there.
