CM Mr. Chouhan undertakes reviews
Bhopal, March 22, 2016 (Ataullah Faizan): A model roadmap of Madhya Pradesh will be chalked out soon to double farmers’ income in next five years. The roadmap will be presented to Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi. Chief Minister Mr. Shivraj Singh Chouhan reviewed strategies to be incorporated in agriculture roadmap and stressed on focusing them on doubling farmers’ income. The Chief Minister said that strategy to increase farmers’ income should be based on organic farming. He directed to adopt all strategies and measures to reduce cost of farming. He directed to chalk out an integrated strategy incorporating allied sectors of agriculture including horticulture, animal husbandry and fisheries. The Chief Minister directed to chalk out an Agriculture Vision Document and publicizing it among farmers. He said that this work would be started from current Kharif season. He said the fertility mapping of every village should be undertaken. Every district’s agriculture plan should be chalked out and endorsed at meetings of district planning committees. The Chief Minister directed to include measures like inter-cropping, organic seed production, farm forestry, development of model agriculture farms and improvement in Mandi arrangements in the strategy. Chief Secretary Mr. Anthony de Sa and Principal Secretaries of concerning departments attended the meeting.
