Entertainment and wildlife experience points to be developed in forest areas

Notification for forests (entertainment and wildlife experience) rules, 2015 issued

Bhopal, March 25, 2016 (Ataullah Faizan):  The state government has issued notification for Forests (Entertainment and Wildlife Experience) Rules, 2015 to promote eco-tourism in forest areas. These rules will be enforced in all forest areas in the state except sanctuaries declared under Wildlife Protection Act, 1972 and reserved forests of National Parks. Under the rules, now Divisional Forest Officers will develop entertainment or wildlife experience points. Facilities like road safari, boating, cafeteria, camping etc can be developed in entertainment areas. Entry fee has been prescribed for tourists. No fee will be charged from children below five years of age visiting the area with their parents. Entry of pedestrians, cyclists or motorcyclists and buses will not be allowed in wildlife experience points. Road safari and water cruise will not be allowed in wildlife experience points before sunrise and after sunset. In view of active participation of local community in protection of forests and wildlife habitats, revenue received through fee will be spent on protection and augmentation, development and maintenance of entertainment facilities and welfare of local community.
