“Policy roundtable on sustainable financial inclusion and cooperatives sectors reforms”

Cooperatives Minister Mr. Gopal Bhargava to inaugurate

Bhopal, April 7, 2016 (Ataullah Faizan):  ‘Policy roundtable Meeting on Sustainable Financial Inclusion and Cooperatives Sectors Reforms’ will be held at Courtyard Mariette, Bhopal on April 7. It will be inaugurated by Cooperatives Minister Mr. Gopal Bhargava. The meeting is being held by NITI Foundation and State’s Cooperatives Department. The plenary session will be addressed by ACS and Agriculture Production Commissioner Mr. P.C. Meena, USAIDC’s Mr. Mukesh Sardana, World Bank’s Mr. Amit Arora, representative of British High Commission, Principal Secretary Cooperatives Mr. Ajit Kesari and NITI Foundation’s Mr. Sooraj Kumar.  Panel discussions in the first technical session ‘ Sustainable Financial Inclusion – State Experience’ will be held on important issues including last end of and financial inclusion of cooperative societies. During it, representatives of Chhattigarh and Madhya Pradesh government and Bauxis India’s Mr. Sanjay Kumar will share their experiences.

Question-answer session will also be held. The second technical session Building Capability for Financial Inclusion’ will be chaired by Mr. Anurag Jain, Joint Secretary, PMO. Co-chairamn of the session will be Narendra Nahata, Founder and Chairman, Smriti Nagrik Sahakari Bank Maryadit, Mandsaur. In the same session, panel discussions will be held on ‘Capacity Development Imperatives for Cooperative Banks – Perspectives from Training Institutions and District Banks.

Presentations will be given by Smriti Nagrik Sahakari Bank Maryadit, Mandsaur, Kumar Shant Rakshit, MD, The Bihar State Cooperative Bank Limited, Dr. Ajit Kumar, RBI-CAB, Bird, Luknow, DCCBs and UCBs of Cambridge University, America’s Economics Department. Madhya Pradesh’s Commissioner Cooperatives Mr. Manish Srivastava, representative of British High Commission, Principal Secretary Cooperatives Mr. Ajit Kesari will address the concluding session.
