goyal1.5.16Bhopal, May 1, 2016 (Abdul Ahad Farhan):  Union Minister of State for Energy, New and Renewable Energy and Coal (Independent Charge) Mr. Piysuh Goyal has said that all necessary facilities are available in Madhya Pradesh. Innovative arrangements should be made to attract national level industrialists towards the state. He lauded works done in Madhya Pradesh in the energy sector. Madhya Pradesh can emerge as a role model for other states due to excellent works done by Energy and Mineral Resources Departments. Mr. Goyal was reviewing activities of Energy, New & Renewable Energy and Mineral Resources departments here today.

He said that the Central government will extend every possible assistance to Madhya Pradesh. Energy and New & Renewal Energy Minister Mr. Rajendra Shukla was specially present at the meeting. Mr. Goyal said that thought should be given to chalk out attractive schemes under ‘Make in India’ and ‘Make in Madhya Pradesh’ to attract industrialists. Provisions for concessions in power rates should also be included in the schemes. The Union MoS called for chalking out a Rs. 1000 crore plan to get funds under PS, DF Fund. Mr. Goyal directed to give electricity connections to about 40 lakh households in the state.

He directed to chalk out and implement an action plan to reduce AT&C losses to 15 percent by year 2019. Stressing the need to install cent percent metres, Mr. Goyal said that only Smart Metres should be installed in future. He also laid emphasis on curbing power theft strictly.  Mr. Goyal stressed the need for energy-efficient pumps for irrigation. Due to it, less power will be consumed and subsidy given on consumption will also come down. Amount saved from subsidy will be spent on other beneficial schemes.

Mr. Goyal said that no additional burden will be borne by distribution companies on purchase of energy-efficient pumps. Union Minister of State for Energy Mr. Goyal lauded increase of 12 percent in power supply and 10 percent in demand during year 2015-16 in Madhya Pradesh saying that exceeds 7 percent increase at the national level. He lauded Madhya Pradesh for works to comply with RPO, which is quite better than other states. He also lauded the state to meet target of electrification of unserviced villages within time-limit. He congratulated Madhya Pradesh for getting 5 out of 5 marks by World Bank in Ease of Doing Business sector.
