HE Minister at meeting of Institute for Excellence in higher education’s general body
Bhopal, May 12, 2016 (Abdul Ahad Farhan): Higher and Technical Education Minister Mr. Umashankar Gupta has said that teacher-student ratio is better in Institute for Excellence in Higher Education than other colleges. Even then, if professors show laxity in discharging duty then strict action would be taken against them. Mr. Gupta stated this at a meeting of Institute for Excellence in Higher Education ‘s general body here today. Mr. Gupta said that fee should be got deposited online from students. No payment should be accepted through cheques. He said that he wants results. Do less correspondence and more work. Mr. Gupta said that institute’s accounting work should be done through commerce students. This will increase their practical knowledge. He directed to complete enquiry against suspended accountant Lalram Raikwar within a month. Mr. Gupta instructed to improve fiscal management. Mr. Gupta directed to re-draft last meeting’s action taken report. He said that results of unsuccessful students should be analysed and whatever lacuna is found in them should be removed.
It was also decided to increase PhD fee to Rs. 17 thousand100. Discussions were also held to increase development charge. The meeting also discussed increase in honorarium of honorary employees and convert merit scholarship to merit award. Institute’s Director Dr. M.L. Nath informed that placement of 334 students has been made in various companies. Institute has also be connected to National Knowledge Network. Principal Secretary Higher Education Mr. Ashish Upadhyay, Additional Director Mr. Umakant Pandey and other members attended the meeting.
