All-India consumers’ Panchayat’s campaign during Simhastha

Bhopal, May 12, 2016 (Ataullah Faizan):  Devotion is reigning supreme everywhere during Simhastha at Ujjain. Meanwhile, some social organisations are also conducting campaigns for social reforms and consumer awareness in Mela area. One of these organisations, All-India Consumers’ Panchayat is apprising devotees of consumer rights. Along with distributing pamphlets and slips in Pandals, the organisation is also taking out consumer awareness rallies. Pandals’ workers are also lending maximum cooperation to the organisation in this unique initiative. Consumers are being made aware of their rights on various Central government services like petroleum and gas, financial, telecommunication, information & broadcasting, education, transport, highway toll plazas, Department of Post, electricity etc. Devotees are also being told to have information about quality and price of goods before purchasing. They must get bill and payment receipt during purchase, inspect warranty or guarantee card and date of manufacturing and expiry of product. They should not purchase anything getting misled by false advertisements. While purchasing sweets, consumers should make payment after getting deducted weight of packet. They should never pay more than MRP (maximum retail price) printed on a consumer good.
