Bhopal, May 16, 2016 (Ataullah Faizan): Chief Secretary Mr. Anthony de Sa inaugurated ‘Noronha Gallery’ at RCVP Noronha Academy of Administration and Management on here today. He also inspected ‘Noronha Gallery’ established near Academy’s library. The Chief Secretary said that the gallery will help in informing next generations about personality of Mr. Noronha. Mr. de Sa said that we learn several lessons from Mr. Noronha’s life. He was a role model and ideal person. Mr. de Sa said that Mr. Noronha worked one fourth of career i.e. under the British rule and remaining 27 years in independent India. He said that as an administrator, late Mr. Noronha successfully removed problems cropping up due to change in scenario. Mr. de Sa said that Mr. Noronha’s mindset proved to be helpful in framing of new policy. Hindi translator of the book ‘A Tale Told by an Idiot’ and Chairman of State Land Reforms Commission Mr. I.S. Dani said that Mr. Noronha was a great ideologist. He worked fearlessly as an able and cheerful officer. Mr. Dani said that Mr. Noronha’s thoughts will be a source of guidance for future administrator. Retired IAS officer Mr. P.C. Sen threw light on late Mr. Noronha’s life. He said that he was a good photographer, hunter, writer and able administrator. State Election Commission’s Chairman Mr. R. Parasuram also spoke on the occasion.
Invitee speakers shared memories of late Mr. Noronha. Senior journalist Mr. Lajja Shankar Herdenia, retired Forest Officer Mr. M.S. Solanki, Mr. Pratap and Mrs. Dube also informed about events of late Mr. Noronha’s life. Welcome address was given by Academy’s Director General Mrs. Suranjana Ray while Noronha Foundation’s Managing Trustee Mr. Ashok Noronha proposed a vote of thanks. Former IAS Mr. Ravindra Sharma was also present on the occasion. The gallery has been established to mark birth centenary of Padma Vibhushan late Mr. RCVP Noronha. A souvenir on the birth centenary published by Noronha Foundation was also released at the programme. New editions of books ‘A Tale Told by an Idiot’ and ‘Animal and Other Animals’ authored by late Mr. Noronha were also dedicated on the occasion.
