No shortage of funds for drinking water arrangements

PR Minister Mr. Shukla reviews piped water schemes at Rewa

shukl20.5.16Bhopal, May 20, 2016 (Abdul Ahad Farhan):   Public Relations, Energy, New & Renewable Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Mr. Rajendra Shukla has said that making available drinking water to people is state government’s priority. For this, there would be no shortage of funds. Mr. Shukla was reviewing progress of various schemes including piped water supply, power supply, subsidy to farmers etc at Rewa today. Mr. Shukla said that the handmups removed due to construction of roads should be re-installed at suitable spots. He said that Sarpanchs should start all networks of drinking water schemes. They should explore alternatives so that drinking water supply continues from another source if one source fails. Mr. Shukla directed for public participation in drinking water schemes. If not so, then funds would be made available from MLA’s Fund. Undertaking review of village-wise piped water schemes, Mr. Shukla said that every possible effort would be made for drinking water supply. For this, Rs. one crore would be made avialble from MLA’s Fund. Mr. Shukla directed to fill all ponds in the area from Bansagar canals. The Minister also got the feedback from sarpanchs regarding power supply and complaints pertaining to electricity bills. He said that it is necessary for 24-hour power supply that consumers pay electricity bills within time-limit. Mr. Shukla directed to curb power theft strictly. He urged villagers to avail benefit of Samadhan Yojana for electricity bill due settlements. He directed to counsel people about the scheme and benefit them by holding camps in villages.
