Targets fixed to provide food grains, houses to poor and employment to youths

gupta28.5.16Bhopal, May 28, 2016 (Abdul Ahad Farhan): Chief Minister Mr. Shivraj Singh Chouhan has resolved to develop Madhya Pradesh as golden state. For this, targets have been fixed to provide food grains and houses to the poor and employment to youths. This was stated by Higher and Technical Education and Skill Development Minister and in-charge of district Mr. Umashankar Gupta while addressing a district level beneficiaries’ convention under ‘Gramoday Se Bharat Uday Abhiyan’ at Umaria today. He said that no person will sleep hungry in the state. Wheat and rice are being provided at Re. one per kg to 5 crore people in Madhya Pradesh. Mr. Gupta said that over 60 thousand persons have been benefited under Abhiyan. The government is supplying 24X7 power to people at a cost of Rs. 50 thousand crore. A target has been set to expand area under irrigation from 36 lakh hectare to 60 lakh hectare by year 2018. He said that the government is committed to reaching benefits of schemes for road, health and all public welfare schemes to the last person in the last row.  The Minister said that action plan for all-round development of villages through Gram Sabhas has been chalked out.

He urged eligible beneficiaries to come forward to avail benefits of public welfare schemes including BPL cards, loan books, pension for widows and disabled persons, inclusion of names in BPL list, drinking water facility, ponds’ deepening, water resources and making agriculture profitable. MP Mr. Dalpat Singh Paraste said that the Central and state governments have implemented a number of development and beneficiary oriented schemes. He exhorted people to avail benefits of these schemes. He also urged them to cooperate in Prime Minister’s Swachchh Bharat Mission. MLA Miss Meena Singh said that there is no difference between government’s policies and intentions. Schemes reach villages as soon as they are implemented.
