Drunken drivers to lose driving licences in Madhya Pradesh

Home Minister Shri Bhupendra Thakur has directed to taken action against drunken drivers by launching a campaign. He said that after making challans of such drivers, process should be undertaken to cancel their driving licences. Shri Singh was reviewing departmental activities with police officers after assuming office at Mantralaya here today.

Shri Singh directed to pay attention to fitness of police personnel. He said that planning needs to be made for this. Fitness can be improved by initiating sports activities at police station level. He said stressed the need to arrange nutritious diet for police personnel. He said that good canteens should be set up at district level.

During discussions on law & order, Shri Singh directed to strengthen arrangements for ensuing festival. He said that our state is safe from terrorism and naxalism. Even then, alertness in this regard is necessary. Shri Singh said that strict action against illicit liquor sale should be ensured. Action should also be taken against concerning liquor contractor.

Shri Bhupendra Singh said that foundation of a state’s development lies in law & order. Due to it, a state carved its distinct identity and development works continue smoothly. He said that due to works during Simhastha, prestige of police has enhanced all over the world. Conduct of the police was laudable during Simhastha. He said that crowd management of the police has also been appreciated.

Home Minister Shri Singh was apprised of success of Dial-100 Scheme, creation of new posts, increase in force in police stations and chowkies and pending proposals regarding houses and administrative buildings.
