Bhopal July 9, 2016 (Muslim Saleem) Minister of State for Cooperatives, Gas Relief & Rehabilitation (independent charge) and Panchayats and Rural Development Shri Vishwas Sarang started visiting rain affected areas since 2 am in the night and made all-out efforts to rescue affected people. He not only got boats operational to rescue people, but also distributed food, milk also. On getting information late on Friday night itself, Shri Sarang rushed to Old Bhopal localities and continued to undertake relief and rescue operations till late in the night next day. Shri Sarang himself board a boat, visited marooned houses and rescued people.
Ashoka Nagar, Mahamai Ka Bagh, Dwarika Nagar, Shankar Nagar, Chanakyapuri crossing, Kammo Ka Bagh, Garam Gadda, Shankaracharya Nagar, Chhola, Vijay Nagar, Khushi Pura, Semra, Station Bajariya, Padmanabh Nagar, Anna Nagar, Subhash Nagar and Subhash Nagar Phatak have been worst affected by excessive rains. Shri Sarang continue to go round these areas since 2 am in the night. He rescued 2 small girls and their parents from a marooned houses in Mahamai Ka Bagh. There a nullah was so much in spate that many houses were marooned and were rescued by boats. Similarly, people were also rescued by boats in Padmanath Nagar and Dwarika Nagar. Shri Sarang was actively engrossed throughout relief and rescue operations. In the morning, Shri Sarang distributed khichadi, bread and milk to affected people and food packets in lunch.
Shri Sarang’s intensive visits came as a major relief to affected people. Their morale was boosted much to deal with the disaster due to visits of their public representatives.
