Bhopal: July 11, 2016 (Ataullah Faizan) Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan chaired a meeting of Disaster Management Institute, Bhopal’s general council here today. information about institute’s works and achievements was given at the meeting. This institute is first of own kind in the country. In it, not only country’s people, but officers of other countries have also imbibed training.
The Chief Minister apprised himself of institute’s works. He expressed satisfaction over its achievements. The meeting discussed appointment of a professional expert on the post of institute’s Vice Chairman.
The meeting was informed that the institute was established in year 1987. Its chairman is Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh government. In the institute, disaster management training is imparted to officers and employees of government, semi government, public and private sector undertakings, banks etc. Besides, members of society are made aware of various aspects of disaster management. The institute is giving consultation at national level on various dimensions. It was informed that the institute has chalked out disaster management plans for all districts of the state.
