IS had planned riots on beef issue in India

beefThe National Investigation Agency (NIA) sleuths busted a devious plot on 29th June which could have sparked huge riots in the southern city of Hyderabad. Further, 11 youths, alleged to be associated with the dreaded terrorist outfit ISIS were arrested.

Hindus worship the cow, terming it as equivalent of mother. NIA has alleged that in order to invoke passions, the arrested youth were planning to plant beef inside Hyderabad’s Bhagyalakshmi temple. Moreover, there was also a plan to trigger blasts in the city targeting VVIPs and crowded places like shopping centers and malls.

An ISIS module was busted by a joint operation of the NIA and the local police where they raided nearly 10 locations in the city. Further, incriminating evidence such as ammunition, explosive materials, acid, chemicals, electronic gadgets like laptops, smart phones and Rs. 15 lakh cash were also seized during the operation.

A telephone conversation discussing meat procurement helped the NIA in thwarting sinister plans of the group. While tracing the call they were shocked to learn that the group was planning to arrange, cow and buffalo meat along with 200 liters of hydrogen peroxide.

Sleuths have alleged that the youths received instructions to create trouble from ISIS handlers in Syria. They have further been accused of being in touch with Syria based terrorist Shafi Armar alias Yousuf al Hindi.

Some of the arrested youth are named as Mohammad Iliyas Yagnani, Mohammad Al-Modi, Mohammand Irfan and Muzaffar Hasan. The rest of the youths’ names have however not been disclosed till now.
