MP Anganwadi scam involves Rs. 1200 crore

BHOPAL : A new estimation has said that Anganwadi nutritious diet scam involves Rs. 1200 crore and benefiaries of it are 3 companies.

On July 13, a 300-strong team of Income Tax department from Indore raided 29 places linked with MP Agro Nutri Food Private Limited, which supplies nutritive food daliya to Aanganwadis across the state. The company is a joint venture with private promoters holding 70 per cent share and MP Agro Industries Development Corporation the remaining. So far, cash and documents relating to five lockers have been seized by the raiding teams.

Raids were conducted at 20 places in Indore, five in Bhopal and four in Mumbai. I-T officials said they had received complaints that there was vast difference between the quantity ordered and supplied by the company. The payment received against goods not actually supplied was being invested in other businesses.

Premises of media house owners Avdhesh, Hridyesh also raided

Raids were conducted on the premises of nutritive food supplier Sunil Jain, their partners Hridyesh Dixit and Avadhesh Dixit, who run a media group, MP State Agro Corporation Limited general managers Ravindra Chaturvedi and VR Dhawal. Jain and Dixit are into real estate business in Mumbai. Crores have been invested in the business in the name of Shrikrishna Devcom Private Limited.

The raids were also conducted on offices of this company.

I-T men reached the government bungalow of Hridyesh Dixit at Char Imli, his private house at Shahpura, a house owned by Dhawal at Sagar Enclave and two factories situated at Mandideep. Sources said these suppliers of nutritive food had made 10-12 companies only name just to rotate money. The turnover of this company is said to be 100 crore although sources claim that their actual turnover is much higher. I-T men said they would forward documents regarding irregularities or corruption in the dealings of the company to the agencies concerned.
