Chief Minister declares Narsinghpur district open defecation free

Narsinghpur district becomes the first ODF district in State 

lead10.3.17Bhopal, March 10, 2017 (Muslim Saleem):  Chief Minister Mr. Shivraj Singh Chouhan declared Narsinghpur district open defecation free (ODF) in Mukhyamantri Swachhata Samman Samaroh held in Gadarwara. Narsinghpur district has become the state’s first entire ODF (rural and urban) district. The Chief Minister wholeheartedly appreciated public representatives, officers-employees, citizens, motivators, Wanar Sena, monitoring committees, sarpanchs, office-bearers of three-level panchayats, urban bodies and those who contributed for making the district open defecation free and worked with dedication and felicitated them. He also congratulated residents of the district on declaring open defecation free.  The Chief Minister also said that there is a need to take cautious further so that hard work does not get useless. Nobody should have defecation in open now in the district. To use toilet should be in people’s habit. Chief Minister Mr. Chouhan said that the area, where women, mothers and sisters are disrespected, can not be happy. He said that those who committed rape, should not have right to live.

Law for awarding capital punishment to such accused will be sent to the centre government and the President. The Chief Minister said that provision has been made to give Rs. 300 per month pension to widows of all categories. Now widow women will be called as Kalyani. Mahila Rojgar Mela will be held to associate women with employment in the state. He said that good results have been seen after reserving 50 percent posts for women in local bodies in the state and women leadership has emerged.  Chief Minister Mr. Chouhan said that how easily people of Narsinghpur district did open defecation free, is appreciable.

He said that similarly, gram panchayats of the district should be made addiction free. District should be made addiction free because addiction is a root of destruction. Making addiction free means that citizens should be away from all sorts of addictions. The Chief Minister said that liquor shops won’t be allowed to open from April 1 in villages of Narmada banks.   Chief Minister Mr. Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that rules have been simplified to legalise all illegal colonies.

Action will be taken against builders developing illegal colonies. No action will be taken against people living in these illegal colonies. The government is working in this direction. He said that every family will have pucca house by 2022 and arrangement will be made in this regard. If cities have shortage of land, poor will be given houses in multi storey buildings. Patta will be given to houseless persons.

CM Mr. Chouhan urged the citizens present on the occasion to give good education to their children. He mentioned that fee of students who secure more than 85 percent marks in 12th board examination and pursue higher education in Engineering, Medical, Management, I.I.T., Nursing and Law will be borne by the state government. A provision of Rs. One thousand crore has been made in the budget in this regard.
