DPC takes important decisions
Bhopal, August 19, 2015 (Ataullah Faizan): Planned efforts will be made to ensure education and health facilities in Bhopal city in accordance with concept of Smart City. All health centres in the district will be upgraded to dispensaries in proportion to needs. Health Department will send proposals for such health centres to the state government through District Planning Committee. These important decisions were taken at a meeting chaired by Minister in-charge of the district and Minister for Panchayats and Rural Development Mr. Gopal Bhargava here today. MP Mr. Alok Sanjar, Mayor Mr. Alok Sharma, Zila Panchayat President Mr. Manohar Nagar, MLAs Arif Aqeel, Vishwas Sarang, Rameshwar Sharma and Vishnu Khatri, Collector, Municipal Corporation Commissioner, members of the committee and concerning officers were also present. Education and Health departments gave departmental reports. Committee members gave several important suggestions to further streamline health and education services. The meeting decided to send proposal to the state government to upgrade all upgradable health centres in the district as dispensaries.
The meeting endorsed proposals to hold meetings of Rogi Kalyan Samiti for improvement in arrangements in hospitals and gave in-principle consent to entrust responsibility of running sanctioned night shelters to municipal corporation. Efforts were lauded for better implementation of Mukhyamantri Bal Shravan and Mukhyamantri Bal Hriday Upchar and Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel Free Medicine Distribution Scheme was also lauded. District Collector informed that medicines worth Rs. 5 lakh prescribed by AIIMS have also been provided free of cost to the patients under the scheme.
The meeting also endorsed proposal to start 10 English medium schools in the district. Besides, detailed review of progress of construction works costing over Rs. 50 lakh was also undertaken. Minister Mr. Bhargava directed to present all financial and physical details of such construction works. It was also decided to remove and prevent encroachments in joint action by district administration, municipal corporation and district police.
