Geo-rich software to control quality and cost of rural roads– ACS Mr. Bains

CEO of MPRRDA Mr. Vyas shares special characteristics of software at workshop

Bhopal, August 27, 2018 (Ataullah Faizan):  The Geo-Rich software will give pace to the decision of Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak which will ensure control of quality and cost of the roads. This was said by Additional Chief Secretary of Panchayat and Rural Development Department Mr. Iqbal Singh Bains at a one-day workshop organised on MP Rural Connectivity Project Geo-Rich Software. The workshop was organised under the joint aegis of MPRRDA, World Bank and AIIB at Hotel Courtyard Marriott. Additional Chief Secretary Mr. Bains said that MPRRDA has fulfilled the responsilibity of construction of good quality roads.

Maintenance of about one lakh k.m. rural roads is being undertaken in a better way. Chief Executive Officer of Madhya Pradesh Rural Road Development Authority Mr. Nitesh Vyas said that the Geo-Rich software for online processing of Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana from monitoring to payment in accordance with the World Bank conditions is ready. This will be the country’s first software prepared by Senior Technical Director of Madhya Pradesh NIC Mr. Vivek Chitle and his team in which the entire process of road construction will be online.

CEO Mr. Vyas said that the Mukhya Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana was started for those who were not coming within the purview of the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak project, to connect them to the (Barahmasi) perennial roads. The responsibility of asphaltation of about 10 thousand kilometers of roads made under the Mukhya Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana has been entrusted to the Madhya Pradesh Rural Road Development Authority.

A loan agreement of Rs 2 thousand 275 crores was signed between Madhya Pradesh Government, World Bank and Asian Infrastructure Development Bank in April 2018 for the construction and maintenance of these roads. As per the agreement, the State government was required to develop an online system for continuous monitoring and quality control of the entire monitoring-to-payment process.
