CM reviews nature and preparedness of proposed investment summit
Bhopal, June 3, 2019 (Muslim Saleem): Chief Minister Shri Kamal Nath
has said that with favourable conditions for industrial investment in
Madhya Pradesh, interaction should be done with real and potential
investors who have genuine interest in investment in Madhya Pradesh. The
Chief Minister was reviewing the nature and preparations for the
proposed investment summit in October at the Mantralaya. The Chief
Minister said that it is not enough only to draft investment related
schemes and to organise summit just for the sake of publicity. There is a
need to focus on the proper use of state’s funds, valuable time of
officials and energy and its outcome.
The Chief Minister said that authentic investors can be identified by
organising dialogue sessions before the investors’summit. He said that
new areas of investment like pharmaceutical research and artificial
intelligence should also be considered. He said that in the new age of
GST, focus must be on the priorities of investors also. The Chief
Minister said that instead of making an estimate of investment, the
issue has to be taken forward on a solid basis.
It was told that the amount invested by the investors in many previous
investor summits was not as promised by them. Some investor groups
claiming big investments even became bankrupt. Communicating with
non-serious investors is a waste of time and money.
Among those who were present in the meeting were Finance Minister Shri
Tarun Bhanot, Chief Secretary Shri S.R. Mohanty, Additional Chief
Secretary Finance Shri Anurag Jain, Additional Chief Secretary Forest
Shri K.K. Singh, Principal Secretary Industry Dr. Rajesh Rajoura and
