Action against 10 kiosk centres over complaint in online admission process

Bhopal, June 17, 2019 (Ataullah Faizan): Action has been taken against 10 kiosk centres following complaints of irregularities in the online admission process under College Chalo Abhiyan. These are 4 of Gwalior, 2 of Bhopal and one centre each of Sagar, Morena, Narsinghpur and Khandwa. Commissioner Higher Education Shri Raghavendra Singh said that on receiving complaints from Sagar, Morena, Gwalior, Hoshangabad and Bhopal of students being charged with more amount by the centres, spot verification was conducted by district coordinators. On finding the complaints true, the kiosk operators were instructed to return the amount and their ID’s were cancelled. Shri Singh told that according to Higher Education Minister Shri Jitu Patwari’s instructions, the online admission of girl students has been made free. He said that criminal case will be registered against the kiosk operators if they charge the students or engage in any fraud. In the first phase, nearly 2 lakh 89 thousand 535 students were registered in graduation and post graduation including 1 lakh 52 thousand 750 girls and 1 lakh 36 thousand 785 boys. Registrations from July 3 in IInd phase In the first phase, admission process in the colleges is scheduled for July 1 for graduation classes and July 11 for post graduation classes. In the second phase, registrations will begin for graduation classes from July 3 and for post graduation classes from July 13. College level counseling for registration in graduation classes will be held from July 22 and for post graduation classes from July 29.
